World Sleep Day on Friday March 16 saw the launch of the Sleep Better CD, by touring DJ, music producer, composer and sleep coach Tom Middleton. After touring 49 countries over 28 years as a music producer and international DJ, Tom Middleton has worked with some of the biggest names in the world of music. Suffering from sleep deprivation, curiosity led him to delve deeper into the world of neuroscience and psychology and eventually train as a Sleep Science Coach. He has consulted with many experts in that field and uses the most up to date body of research literature as the basis of the CD.
Sleep Better should be played one hour before going to bed. It is a series of soundscapes that are designed to ease the brain into switching off and preparing for sleep. The soundscapes help the mind and body decelerate through rhythmic entertainment and exposure to psychoacoustic ambient sound techniques. These have been shown to reduce heart rate, respiratory rate and lower blood pressure.
We are told by experts that sleep deprivation has become a modern epidemic. I certainly see a lot of people with sleep problems in my Clinic – Acupuncture is an excellent treatment for solving the issue. To be able to have a good night’s sleep should not be a luxury, it should be the norm. We are informed that the Sleep Better CD is far superior to anything else like this on the market. I have said many times how long term sleep problems can lead to a variety of physical and mental health problems right across society. This CD is very welcome indeed.
